is an ecumenical, Christian Prison Ministry to

  • bring Christ’s love and forgiveness to incarcerated Residents (the Ladies in White) at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ)-Hobby Unit,  and
  • to enable the Ladies in White to create and maintain an ongoing Christian community inside the walls.
A well-organized and well-trained Volunteer Inside Team (plus a 10+/- Outside Team) lead 24 to 42 Ladies in White in a short course in Christianity over a three day "weekend.
For many Ladies in White, this will be their first experience in a loving family atmosphere and/or to hear of Christ’s love and forgiveness.  During this Special Time, the Ladies in White are given the opportunity to experience a religious renewal (or awakening) accepting God’s call to (a) a life of Christian witness, (b) service to one another inside the walls, and (c) to establish strong Christian communities within the walls.
St. John’s Episcopal Church - Marlin provides space for Kairos Team meetings, meal preparation for all Team Members and the staging for the Weekend, including the Cookie & Agape Ministry.
